The event starts with a kickoff party from 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 28 that includes a community cookout, live music, the Oaken Barrel craft brew truck and demo paddles for players to try out. The tournament raises funds for Alzheimer's Association and features round robin play on outdoor courts with men's, women's and mixed doubles competition. Along with high-level pickleball, the weekend features a silent auction and daily food trucks, ice cream and other sweet treats.
